It is the global Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, the Indian people have a Redmi Note 9 Pro as well, but is a different model, have a detail review about this phone. Throughout India, the global Redmi Note 9 Pro compares to the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, except the edition has an extra 8 GB RAM. We hope Xiaomi will finally come to its senses and stop this naming madness, but we’re not optimistic about that.

So the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro we have in our hands today has a 1080p resolution 6.67-inch IPS LCD (and regular 60Hz refresh rate), detailed review, a 6 GB RAM (and no 5 G) Snapdragon 720 G, and a huge 5.020mAh battery that gets up to 30W charging.

Redmi Note 9 Pro Performance and Battery

Performance on the Redmi Note series was never really a problem and, as such, I did not expect any problems. Our review unit has 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, the Snapdragon 720 G ensures you ‘re getting a smooth performance every day. As I was running games like Asphalt 9, 8 at high settings, there was no lag or frame drop. And other games such as Badland, Alto’s Odyssey run on the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

The phone runs MIUI 11 with Android 10 as its basis. As usual, I would recommend that you turn off updates and reminders from Xiaomi’s pre-installed applications like the Mi Browser, Mi Video, etc. since the rush of content is persistent, and that can be very irritating. These messages tray the notification very quickly and you may end up missing something really important

Redmi Note 9 Pro Display and Design

In recent years, Xiaomi ‘s smartphone designs have matured with great lengths, going from uninspiring metal backs to high-end glass sandwiches. The Redmi Note 9 Pro is a refinement of the latest Aura architecture that seeks to add greater harmony and ease of use to the mix. The outcome is a bulky phone with a unibody style of glass that looks better than the price tag would imply.

Yeah, the camera hump is very protruding, but it doesn’t bounce excessively when it’s on a table, possibly due to the rectangular 2 x 2 camera configuration rather than the lenses running in a straight line around the frame. The back is very small and sleek with no other eyesores but for the video globe. Notably Gorilla Glass 5 protects both the rear and the eyes. There’s also a slight lip to avoid scratching around the lenses. It is also one of the most pronounced camera bumps on any smartphone of recent times.

While we enjoy moving to a luxury end, there is no doubt that this is a large and heavy handset. Although it carries a larger monitor and batteries to support its size (more on that ahead), in your wallet you would find it difficult to accommodate it. And when you are playing games or using your phone with one hand, the repetitive supination would eventually fatigue your wrists. Other inherent big problems with the phone, Such as being unable to use it on its own or having difficulty reaching the volume rocker, are also experienced here.

The back is also expected to be slippery, which is exacerbated because of the phone’s sheer size. It’ll begin to glide off any surface on which you place it. Thankfully, the package contains a silicone shell.

Redmi Note 9 Pro Camera

The Redmi Note 9 Pro features a 48MP rear camera with an ultra-wide 8MP camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor combined. 16MP front camera. For most parts the camera output is pleasing, particularly when you shoot during the day or when there is sufficient light. The color reproduction is correct though some images looked a little washed out with the macro camera.

The camera from Redmi Note 9 Pro performs well, and when using the regular mode, there were no issues with focus or shutter lag as such. Even with macro mode, and often the emphasis wouldn’t lock on too quickly when transitioning to Night Mode.

Redmi Note 9 Pro Summary

The starting price for the Redmi Note 9 Pro is smaller than its predecessors. This has a 6.67-inch LCD screen at just the edge with a refresh rate of 60Hz and front camera with hole-punch. The processor is a Qualcomm 720 G snapdragon which is amazingly powerful for this segment.
